IACET Accreditation

IACET has a rich history of promoting educational quality. Created in 1968, IACET's Criteria and Guidelines for Quality Continuing Education and Training Programs are the standards by which hundreds of organizations measure their educational offerings.

Based on the original Criteria and Guidelines, IACET's newly-approved ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard addresses processes for designing, developing, and delivering continuing education and training, not the content of individual programs, which means that our Standard applies across all disciplines.  Through an emphasis on the educational process, the Standard ensures clear program development and valuable learning outcomes.

IACET Authorized Providers complete a comprehensive application and undergo a strict evaluation of their educational processes according to the ANSI/IACET 1-2007 Standard. Only IACET Authorized Providers can offer the IACET CEU, the hallmark of quality in continuing education and training.

IACET Authorized Provider Status Means the Organization:
  • Demonstrates compliance with proven, research-based standards created in cooperation with the U.S. Department of Education
  • Is dedicated to high standards for quality in continuing education and training
  • Awards the IACET CEU, the hallmark for quality in continuing education and training.
